The patch or directional antenna is ideal for targeted coverage areas due to its V- or hemispherical coverage. It concentrates the signal and amplifies it in one direction. A patch antenna is useful when a signal is to be received at a greater distance and at a specific point.
A patch antenna consists of two metal plates, with a larger and a smaller metal plate in the middle of which there is a dielectric layer. Being flat, thin and lightweight, it provides for unobtrusive mounting on ceilings and walls, such as in rack aisles in warehouses, hallways in buildings, etc. With an adjustable spread from 30° to 180° from the mounting point, you can optimally align and deploy to the coverage areas.
